The first major departure from Stamford Bridge of the window looks like it’s just around the corner.
With the future of several players unclear, it seems like we are in the end game with one.
Reports out of Germany, BILD specifically are stating that Maatsen’s move to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund is “on the home straight.”
Maatsen is expected to join the German club on loan but the technicalities of the deal have not fully been revealed as of yet.
Sky Sports are reporting similar, reporter Dharmesh Sheth is saying that discussions are over a loan with an option and there is a willingness from all parties to get a deal done.
The Dutch fullback has made 12 appearances for Pochettino’s side this season, 11 coming from the bench and has just 18 months left on his current contract at Stamford Bridge.
