It’s football’s worst kept secret. Chelsea are in the market for a centre forward. Who? That remains the difficult question in and around Stamford Bridge due to the difficulties of the January market.
According to Nathan Gissing, Aston Villa striker Jhon Durán has been discussed internally at Chelsea as a potential short-term option this month. But there are doubts as to whether there is an urgency to get a striker this month due to the risk of signing someone that wouldn’t elevate the squad.
With Chelsea interested in Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, signing another forward who isn’t an upgrade could be an unnecessary risk.
Jhon Durán has made 14 appearances for Villa in the Premier League so far this season, scoring just twice.
