Newcastle United are looking to swoop in on another of Chelsea’s young talents.
The Magpies, who recently signed Chelsea youngster Lewis Hall on loan with a suspected option-to-buy clause, now have their sights on another of the West London sides talents.
Chelsea, who currently have 9 players out on loan, have hit a crossroads with one among the list.
Players often go out on loan to seek more regular game time – however, one player in particular has made headlines on a few occasions for the opposite.
Nottingham Forest have played 21 games so far this season, registering just 5 victories.
Andrey Santos, 19, was signed to Chelsea back in early January 2023 for a reported £13 million fee.
Following his move to London, Santos went back to former club, Vasco da Gama, and is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest.
Despite the club season now reaching the half-way mark, Santos has played in just 2 games.
In a total of 97 minutes, a cause for concern has been raised from parent club, Chelsea, bringing up the possibility of a re-call from loan as soon as this week as reported by The Standard.
In light of this news, Newcastle have reportedly “made an equiry” into signing Santos, as reported by Ben Jacobs via Football365.
Santos was heavily linked with a move to St James’ Park before his move to Chelsea.
On January 3rd 2024, Andrey Santos was officially re-called from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest, as confirmed via the Chelsea website.
