It hasn’t been the greatest time for Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea Football Club.

Brought to the club by Thomas Tuchel after blazing a trail in Italy with Inter Milan, Chelsea fans had high expectation for the Belgian striker.

Lukaku had been at the club many years before, when he was younger, but was meant to be returning as the missing link in Chelsea’s pursuit for silverware.

However, it hasn’t quite worked out that way with Lukaku since returning to Italy on loan moves to first Inter and then more recently Roma.

With that said, it seems that Chelsea are doing what they can to sell the striker and have set an asking price for the Belgian.

According to The Evening Standard, Chelsea Football Club would like £37m for the Belgian striker.

In the article, the paper states that Roma Football Club, where Lukaku has been on fire so far this season with 9 goals in 14 games for the Serie A side, are willing to pay that amount if he continues this rich vein of form.

Roma and Chelsea have history in transfers as the Italian side previously brought Tommy Abraham from Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho, the current Roma manager, may leave the club in the summer and that could prove a possible issue.

Nevertheless, Lukaku has many admirers in Italy, with the likes of Juventus having talks to sign him previously and they could return to the table with a bid if Roma don’t look to pursue the deal.

In any case, Chelsea fans will be pleased that the club is getting a decent amount for a player who is no longer wanted at the club and could then possibly reinvest that into signing another striker to bolster their ranks for the seasons ahead.
