Just over 24 hours ago, Chelsea recalled 19-year-old Brazilian star, Andrey Santos from his loan at Nottingham Forest.
Now Chelsea look set to do the same once again with another of their young talents.
Whilst loan spells can often be good for the development of young players, Chelsea have seen their assets underutilized this season.
Andrey Santos registered just 2 appearances for Premier League side Nottingham Forest, amounting just 97 minutes across those games.
Next to return, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano on X, is Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana who is currently on loan at German side, Union Berlin.
Fofana joined Chelsea in December 2022 and was loaned out to Union Berlin in July the next year.
The Ivorian has made 12 appearances for the German side, amounting 885 minutes across both the Bundesliga and Champions League, netting just 2 in that time.
Fabrizio said: “Understand after Andrey Santos, Chelsea are also prepared to recall David Datro Fofana from loan deal at Union Berlin.”
“Internal discussion taking place but Fofana is expected to return and leave again.”
With a loan move upon return imminent based on reports from Alonso Riveror, La Liga side Sevilla are at the top of the list to sign the 21-year-old.
