John Terry attended the 14th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on Friday as the Chelsea legend continues to pick up individual accolades.
Terry picked up the ‘Player Career Award’ at the award ceremony following his illustrious career which came to a conclusion back in 2018.
At the ceremony Terry addressed the crowd following his achievement and dedicated the award to Chelsea legend, Gianluca Vialli who passed away just over a year ago.
Also the former Chelsea captain spoke on the current project at Stamford Bridge, highlighting Manchester City as the ones to beat. Terry told the audience (via Absolute Chelsea), “I think we’re seeing cycles. I think when I look back 10, 15 years ago. Man United were dominating the Premier League. Chelsea come along, we dominated for a little bit. Now Pep and Man City are dominating.”
During the conversations of cycles, Terry added the blues and Pochettino need to be given some sort of time to implement an overall project. He told Globe Soccer Awards, “Unfortunately, Chelsea are a little bit off [the top of the Premier League] it at the moment. But given time, the manager needs time, Poch is a great manager, I’ve seen him work on a daily basis.”
Chelsea sit 9th in the Premier League and face a tough week of cup action, beginning on Tuesday against Championship side Middlesbrough as the blues look to overturn a one goal deficit at Stamford Bridge.
