The final international break of the 23/24 season is almost over and the return of club football is on the horizon. Near a dozen Chelsea players have had to deal with injury setbacks in recent weeks as we await the dreaded injury update on Thursday afternoon.

One player that has left Chelsea fans sweating over his availability is Cole Palmer. The England international missed Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Brazil as a precaution. However, Gareth Southgate has confirmed today in his press conference ahead of the Belgium clash on Tuesday night that Cole Palmer is in full training and it seems like the early fears have now been clarified.

In other news, Carney Chukwuemeka returned to Cobham today following his withdrawal from the England U21 squad. It is thought his injury isn’t serious but it remains to be seen whether this will impact his availability on Saturday.

Chukwuemeka scored the decisive goal in the 4-2 FA Cup victory over Leicester City just before the international break and has struggled for minutes this season due to multiple setbacks.
