It was the news we had all been waiting for, news that has come far too regularly in the past 2 years and that is Reece James is once again facing a period of time on the sidelines.
This morning the club released a statement, albeit vague to say that Reece James had sustained a hamstring injury and will begin rehabilitation at the Cobham training base.
James was subbed off at Goodison Park in the 27th minute following a complaint and the clubs early fears have now become a reality.
Chelsea’s statement was followed by further developments, this time from insider, Nathan Gissing, Nathan has reported that Reece James will face a minimum of 3 months out, this was also backed up by the highly reliable Fabrizio Romano confirming similar.
This is just the latest blow for James who was handed the clubs captaincy at the beginning of the season but has made just 9 appearances across all competitions. James will be sweating on a Euro 2024 place, even more so missing the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
🚨🔵 Reece James has undergone medical assessment, scan results have confirmed an hamstring injury.
