Pochettino has been speaking to the media ahead of Chelsea’s vital Premier League clash against West London rivals, Fulham.

Ahead of the game Pochettino has confirmed that Nkunku will once again miss the match due to injury but has given encouraging news regarding both Badiashile and Chilwell.

Both are set to return to the squad tomorrow in a timely boost for a Chelsea side who are under massive pressure. Carney Chukwuemeka despite being in full training isn’t quite ready.

Pochettino has once again been speaking about Tuesday’s defeat to Championship side Middlesbrough and has been caught in a confusing statement.

He told the press,“If you see the previous year, too many premier league [teams] were out in different competitions in Middlesbrough. It was Caicedo telling me ‘we lose last season against Middlesbrough there with Brighton.”

Brighton beat Middlesbrough 5-1 last season in the FA Cup 3rd round and Caicedo was not even a professional footballer the last time the seagulls lost to Boro.

So far this season Middlesbrough have played two Premier League sides, both have been in the last seven days. One was a narrow defeat to Aston Villa and the other was beating the blues on Tuesday. Last season Boro played one top flight opposition and lost 5-1.

The last time a Premier League team lost to Middlesbrough before Tuesday was back in 2022 when they knocked out Tottenham and Manchester United of the FA Cup, before losing to Chelsea.
