After a bitterly disappointing night at The Riverside Stadium, Pochettino has been speaking to the in house media following the defeat.
There is reason to remain optimistic as we are only at half time in the tie and with a sold out Stamford Bridge anything can happen. Despite looking so poor from a supporters point of view, Chelsea are not out of the cup just yet.
Pochettino told the club website after the game, “We dominated, I think we were the better side but in the end this type of game, in cups can happen.”
Pochettino continued, “Too many theories but I think we were the better side but when you don’t score it’s difficult to win.” The boss rounded off saying, “We are going to fight to be in the final.”
Pochettino also confirmed that Malo Gusto was subbed off as a precautionary measure.
