Pochettino has issued a cry of support ahead of tonight’s crucial Carabao Cup semi-final 2nd leg against Championship side Middlesbrough.

The blues currently trail by a goal after suffering a first leg defeat but with 90 minutes to play on home territory, destiny remains in Chelsea’s hands.

Ahead of the game Pochettino told the media (via The Guardian), “Our fans are going to be really motivated to help the team to reach the final.

The team need to translate the good energy for the fans to be motivated. We need to send the first signal that we care, that we want to go to the final.”

Pochettino added that the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge has been good for the majority but added that the blues are still suffering from last seasons awful campaign.

Pochettino said, “We are paying now the effect of 18 months. We have been here for six months and sometimes for us it is difficult to compare. We are getting better results now. But the disappointment for the fans is from last season.”

With Chelsea trailing, Stamford Bridge needs to be at its best from the first whistle.
