Chelsea’s wait and uncertainty for a new stadium plan goes on as latest reports have suggested one idea that was once under consideration is off the table.

Since the arrival of the Boehly/Clearlake takeover, one of the pledges set by Roman Abramovich was to redevelop Stamford Bridge, something he wasn’t able to do during his tenure.

Many plans have been put on the table which included a stand by stand rebuild, moving to Wembley 0r Twickenham on a temporary basis or moving to a new location entirely. But one plan seems to be off the table which will cause debate among Chelsea fans.

According to The Athletic, Fulham’s Craven Cottage is not an option for a temporary home as the near 30,000 capacity is classed as too small for a club of the size of Chelsea.

With one option off the table and not being able to occupy recently purchased land next to Stamford Bridge for at least another year it seems like the stadium plans will have to wait for now. This is just the latest obstacle that the new ownership are discovering on what is a unique piece of land.
