The latest injury report ahead of our Carabao Cup semi-final 2nd leg against Middlesbrough is out and the number still remains higher than any of us would want. The blues will be without several players with the latest update tallying as much as eight, add in Jackson and that is nine.

Once again Chilwell, Chalobah, Badiashile and Chukwuemeka are in full training. This is a welcome boost as both have spent the majority of the season on the sidelines this season. It does seem like tomorrow comes a bit too early for Chalobah.

Chelsea are still set to be without Cucurella, Gusto, James, Fofana, Lavia, Sanchez, Ugochukwu and Nkunku for this upcoming cup tie according to the club website.

Lavia has played just over half hour of football for Chelsea and has since been ruled out. The club website specify that he is undergoing his “rehabilitation programme”. The same applies for Ugochukwu who got injured in Chelsea’s Christmas Eve clash against Wolves.

The surprise addition to the latest injury update is Malo Gusto, this is the first we have heard on it due to the break. The signs were beginning to show as supporters have noticed his absence in constant training clips.

Reports from France at the beginning of the month suggested Nkunku would be back before the winter break even occurred so we await to see what the final verdict is but the injury report states he is undergoing his rehabilitation programme.

Jackson will miss the game due to the African Cup of Nations and is likely to be away for some time yet. We are set to hear from Pochettino in just under an hour.
