As well as talking with the host broadcasters, Prime Video. The winning goalscorer, Noni Madueke also spoke with the club after the victory.

Madueke has only started one Premier League game for Chelsea so far this season with the other 7 appearances being token minutes off the bench.

Wednesday night’s winner was not only a big moment for him it was also a massive one for Pochettino who has been criticised in recent weeks as to why the England U21 winger doesn’t get more minutes.

Madueke told Chelsea TV after the game, “It’s a big moment for me, first few months of the season haven’t gone as well as I’ve liked, its been a bit stop start but this is what we do it for, those type of moments.”

With Palmer, Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez not on the pitch, the penalty options for the blues were limited.

Both Gallagher and Madueke were surrounding the ball and Noni has revealed what he said to Gallagher to make sure he had the ball for the spot kick. He said, “It was always gonna be mine, I’m confident, confident from the spot so yeah. I just told him [Gallagher] don’t worry I’ll score.”

Pochettino has a decision to make on Saturday as both Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling return from suspension.
