Ian Maatsen’s start to life at Borussia Dortmund couldn’t have gone any better.
Back to back victories and an assist in his most recent game has already got the German media talking about the Dutch fullback extending his stay in the Bundesliga.
Maatsen told Sky Germany reporter, Patrick Berger after Saturday’s victory, “I would like to come back to the summer. Why not? But we’ll see what the future brings.”
As we know Maatsen has a £35m release clause in his new Chelsea contract so any club looking for a left back knows they can easily trigger the release clause.
They’ll likely be mixed emotions from those inside Stamford Bridge given Chelsea are in need for a left back and if Maatsen continues his performances, £35m may well look to be a possible bargain.
