Jackson & Caicedo have avoided suspension and here is why

Share this article:

Following Chelsea’s 5-0 crushing by the Premier League leaders on Tuesday night, both Moises Caicedo and Nicolas Jackson have now avoided picking up a suspension for ten yellow cards.

The tightrope of being on nine yellow cards resulted in a tenth equalling a two match suspension. In order to avoid punishment both had to go 32 league matches without receiving a 10th and have since met that task.

Jackson had been walking a tightrope ever since he picked up a yellow card in the aftermath at Selhurst Park.

The next threshold of a ban is 15 yellow cards, no Chelsea player in the history of the Premier League has met this threshold. The only risk of suspension heading into the 24/25 campaign is if a player were to be sent off in the closing matches of the current season.
