As the Premier League takes a break after this weekend, it also marks the final league game for players taking part in the Africa Cup Of Nations.
Chelsea only have one player off to the tournament and that is striker, Nicolas Jackson who will be representing Senegal.
The tournament begins on January 13th and the final will take place on February 11th. With players meeting up a few days before the tournament it seems the final round for players will be the FA Cup 3rd round.
If Jackson and Senegal were to go all the way, the forward would miss 7 matches which include both Carabao Cup semi-finals against Middlesbrough and Chelsea’s trip to Anfield.
The group stages conclude on January 24th so Jackson will be guaranteed to miss Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Fulham. Our opposition that day will also likely be without Bassey, Iwobi and Ballo-Toure.
If Senegal make it out of the group stage then both Jackson and Salah are unlikely to make the clash at Anfield on January 31st. Depending on what side of the draw they fall on it could be possible to make that fixture even if both get knocked out in the last 16.
A regular update will take place as the tournament goes on.
Games Jackson could miss: Middlesbrough (A), Fulham (H), Middlesbrough (H), FA Cup R4*, Liverpool (A), Wolves (H), Crystal Palace (A).
