Chelsea travel to Luton Town in the early kick off to end a miserable 2023. A year which started in Nottingham finally comes to an end this week.
A bonus for Pochettino as Saturday’s game brings a break from Premier League action for 2 weeks due to the FA Cup, that buys time to get some players fit for the 2nd half of the season.
Since the game on Christmas Eve, the club have not provided any updates regarding injuries, but many players on the list were not nearing a return.
The following players that were on the injury list ahead of the Wolves game and expected to still be out included; Sanchez, Cucurella, James, Chalobah, Chilwell, Chukwuemeka and Fofana.
Enzo Fernández & Lesley Ugochukwu were added to the list post Wolves and now we await concrete information on Lavia.
After the Palace game, Pochettino told the Chelsea website that Mykhailo Mudryk would need to be assessed ahead of the game following a hard tackle in the second half.
Training pictures later in the day saw both Mudryk and Enzo take part. Both Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer return following suspensions.
