It has been over three months now since Moisés Caicedo was involved in a three way battle over his future, Chelsea, Liverpool and Brighton were all desperate to have the Ecuador international for this campaign. In the end Chelsea won that battle and today Caicedo has opened up about the move that saw himself decide on a move to West London.

Arriving from Brighton for a Premier League record of £115m, Caicedo has found his start tougher than expected, the same can apply with many stars signed over the summer.

From being in the USA missing Chelsea pre season entirely to missing the start of the season, many factors could apply as to why Caicedo has started slowly.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Caicedo has spoken about why he was determined to move to Stamford Bridge rather than Liverpool. He said, “I was talking with Chelsea for a long time. It was impossible to say no to Chelsea, because they were with me supporting me.”

“In the summer I suffered a lot because it was complicated to leave Brighton. They were with me, and in the last moment Liverpool called me but it was late because I wanted to play for Chelsea. It was tough to say no to Chelsea.”

Caicedo will know the clubs fortunes won’t change overnight, despite league form going poor Caicedo and Chelsea still have an opportunity in both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.
