It’s no secret that 6 Women’s Super League winner and current Chelsea Women’s Manager, Emma Hayes, will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

The question circling the women’s side is who will take on the role with such large shoes to fit?

The Athletic have reported that: “Chelsea Women have offered a contract to Lyon head coach Sonia Bompastor to replace USWNT-bound Emma Hayes at the end of the season.”

“Bompastor — who has won the Champions League as a player and manager — is the chosen candidate and Chelsea are negotiating a deal to appoint her.”

“Nothing has been signed and the process remains ongoing.”

It is to be noted that Bompastor has a contract with Lyon until 2026.
