Earlier today the Premier League announced that its proposal to ban ‘multi-club’ loans had been rejected. A rule change that could have had a major impact on Chelsea.
With Chelsea having ties to Strasbourg and looking to expand in the future this new development comes with high interest given the amount of ‘stockpiling’ Chelsea have done in recent windows.
The clubs who voted against the motion have reportedly been revealed, with fourteen votes needed to pass.
According to The Times, the seven clubs that voted against the change were; Newcastle, Sheffield United, Man City, Chelsea, Everton, Wolves and Nottingham Forest.
With seven clubs wanting to block this change, this resulted in the Premier League being one team short from being able to pass the vote.
This can only be good news for Todd Boehly/Clearlake as the January transfer window approaches.
