Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Everton was perhaps Pochettino’s most damaging result of his tenure so far. With the defeat to Manchester United taking place just a few days earlier it was vital he got a reaction from the dressing room. The stats would argue he did but in reality Chelsea fell way short once again.
With Chelsea sitting 12th in the Premier League, just 9 points above the relegation zone naturally the pressure on Mauricio Pochettino is beginning to rise.
This evening, Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the situation as has revealed the clubs stance as “Chelsea are still backing, trusting and supporting Pochettino.” But within the update have we seen the first signs of the tide changing?
Romano went onto say, the “owners and everyone at the club views the situation as not acceptable, they know they can’t continue like this and there will be internal discussions about solutions”
Are the owners and sporting directors beginning to get itchy feet?
