After last week’s robbery at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano in Madrid. Chelsea returned to winning ways in the second group game of the UEFA Women’s Champions League, securing a 4-1 victory.

After group rivals Hacken stunned Real Madrid earlier in the day, tonights game had slightly more pressure as well as an opportunity to pull away in group D from the rest of the pack. Chelsea took the lead on the half hour mark through Sam Kerr but were pegged back just 8 minutes later as Paris FC equalised.

Chelsea were quick to regain the lead as Sam Kerr found her 2nd just three minutes into the second half. 2-1 became 3-1 just seven minutes later as Sam Kerr secured her hat-trick. Chelsea rounded off the night with a late goal via Sophie Ingle as the game ended 4-1, a victory that sends Chelsea three points clear of Real Madrid.

After the game, unsurprisingly Sam Kerr was handed the player of the match award. Next up for Chelsea is the visit of Leicester on Sunday with the next Champions League game not being until mid December against leaders Hacken.
