Arriving for £115m in the summer from Brighton, Caicedo has found his start to life at Stamford Bridge perhaps harder than he would imagine. With the pressures of a big transfer fee and playing for a club like Chelsea it is visible that the pressure can take its toll.
In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Caicedo has spoken about his recent move to Chelsea and within that interview he has also spoken about his footballing idols.
Caicedo told Sky Sports, “N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba were my idols in football. I loved watching them.” Caicedo also went onto share an encounter when he met N’Golo Kante;
“Meeting N’Golo Kante, it was amazing. I was at Brighton, on the bench…After the game, I ran straight to Kante to swap shirts. He said ‘yes, of course’. He was very kind with me. It was an incredible moment for me because I met my idol.”
Caicedo also went onto say that Paul Pogba was another idol and says both shirts he has remain in Ecuador because “they are so special”
If Moises can replicate N’Golo Kante’s time at Stamford Bridge then it will be more than money well spent.
“He knows who I am, that’s why he’s relaxed with me.”
