In an exclusive interview with former academy striker Bryan Fiabema, he has exclusively given his thoughts on what it was like to be around former Champions League and Club World Cup winning manager Thomas Tuchel.

Fiabema was in the Chelsea academy for the first two seasons of Tuchel’s reign who claims the German coach was a “very demanding manager” and praised the overall nature of the methods on the training ground.

Fiabema told The Byline, “The training sessions are spot on. You have to be on it.”

Despite being just 21 years of age, Fiabema departed the blues back in June off the back of a loan spell and now has since joined Real Sociedad B. Despite not being around the training ground at the time of Tuchel’s sacking the Norwegian U21 forward believes his departure was a mistake.

When asked if he was surprised Tuchel got sacked, Fiabema replied, “Very, very. I think to this day even it was a mistake because if you look back, if you are at a big club like that you always have to win trophies. He won trophies, I would say he did well but just seeing what he did with the players and the team, I think it was a mistake.”
