Emma Hayes and Chelsea this afternoon have been handed a huge blow in the race for the WSL title and Champions League glory.
Chelsea Football Club have released the following statement: “Sam Kerr has sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during our warm weather training camp in Morocco.”
The Australian international has had a injury hit 6 months which included missing the majority of the Women’s World Cup in her home country.
This latest injury comes as a shock especially as the league is currently on a mid season break. Kerr currently sits on 99 goals for the blues and is out of contract at the end of the season.
We all wish Sam the best during her recovery.
