Compare this time last week to now, the mood around the club looks a whole lot better. Back to back Premier League wins for just the second time this season and Madueke is once again on the scoresheet.

Despite still sitting 10th in the Premier League, the gap to those above has shrunk and when Chelsea take on Fulham in two weeks time, the hunt continues.

Here are quick fire player ratings from today’s victory

Petrovic: 8/10- Fantastic performance and his best in blue so far. A massive save at 1-3, could have done better on the 2nd goal but his defence didn’t exactly offer the support. Petrovic’s confidence at commanding his area is a strong note of his.

Gusto: 8/10- Excluding Cole Palmer, one of the best players on the pitch today. Brings a different type of confidence on the ball and the perfect upgrade on Azpilicueta.

Thiago Silva: 7/10- Big performance from him today, strong in the air and his body language at full time was telling. In no world Chelsea should have been fighting for the 3 points after going 3-0 up.

Disasi: 6.5/10- Similar to Thiago Silva but didn’t have much to do across the game. Being paired with Silva doesn’t help either player excel in their qualities as both aren’t quick enough.

Colwill: 6.5/10- Playing out of position yet again despite a left back sitting on the bench. Didn’t do anything wrong today but when Chilwell or Cucurella are back, they probably go to left back.

Gallagher: 6.5/10- A slightly above average performance from him today, would have gone to below average had Chelsea not won the game. As a midfielder who is meant to sit next to Caicedo, ended up having a higher average position than Jackson and very close to Palmer. Won just under a half of his duels too.

Caicedo: 7/10- Decent performance but was stretched at times. His passing improved since the victory over Palace the other day and was involved in one of the goals today. Not worried about his performance.

Madueke: 8/10- Incredible performance one again. A cracking finish and a shooting technique which Chelsea have found hard to find. No player had more key passes on the pitch and I hope this is just the start for him.

Palmer: 9/10- Best player on the pitch and deserved man of the match award. 2 fantastic strikes, the first being well placed and the second being a moment of magic. Turns out the suspension last game was just a forced rest.

Jackson: 7.5- Chaotic on the pitch in a good way. His unpredictability on the wing for Chelsea today caused Luton problems. His in game management rattled the crowd and set up Palmer to make it 3-0. Couldn’t keep hold of the ball which was frustrating.

Broja: 5.5/10- Struggled to get involved in the game, got hit hard with a bad tackle and was subbed off on the hour mark. I’m hoping this is a blip in form for Broja as Chelsea are going to have rely on him with Jackson heading to AFCON.

Subs: Nkunku, Enzo, Gilchrist.

Next: Preston (H) in the Emirates FA Cup.
