There’s no hiding that Tuesday night is Chelsea’s biggest game of the season so far. With no European football and the Premier League objectives fading as the weeks go on, Pochettino needs to put all his eggs in one basket. The basket being the Carabao Cup.

Chelsea have not won the League Cup since 2015 and are currently without a domestic trophy since Eden Hazard slotted that penalty past De Gea in the FA Cup Final back in 2018. May would mark six seasons so this competition is more than just a ‘League Cup’.

Ahead of the game, Joe Cole was at a Carabao event in Thailand and gave his prediction for the upcoming clash, he told EFL;

“I think Chelsea beat them. I know they lost 4-1 up there, but I didn’t think there was much in the game before the individual errors. I feel that Chelsea at home is a different proposition. Newcastle have got so much going on at the moment with the Champions League and so many things to juggle about with the team.”

Joe Cole went onto say he believes Chelsea will win 2-1.

Other predictions included, Liverpool knocking out West Ham, Everton beating Fulham on penalties and Middlesbrough defeating Port Vale.
